“This is it
As big as you’re gonna get
So enjoy it
Had to give you a career to destroy it.”
⁃ Killshot, Eminem.
It’s all over the news. Somehow, one could sense that it was almost inevitable. For those of you who haven’t read about it or haven’t heard about it, Eminem recently released a surprise album titled ‘Kamikaze’, some of whose songs, are directly aimed towards many rappers in the music industry one of them being Machine Gun Kelly.
The two rappers have a history of dissing against each other, in the form of tweets and so forth. As a response to Eminem’s diss, Kelly came forth with a diss of his own- ‘Rap Devil’. The name of the song and it’s contents were supposedly an attempt to get Eminem’s attention and boy he sure did!
“Fuck Rap God
I’m the Rap Devil
With a black shovel”
⁃ Rap Devil, Machine Gun Kelly.
Eminem had received heavy criticism from rappers in the industry for the failure of his album, ‘Revival’. Many had predicted that king of rap was no longer invincible and took the liberty to start dissing the American rapper in their songs. As a response, Eminem decided to drop his surprise album ‘Kamikaze’, in which he speaks his heart out against all the negativity and hatred that he was receiving.
“But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne
If you wanna come at me with a sub-Machine Gun
And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly
I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss
But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie”
⁃ ‘Not Alike’, Kamikaze by Eminem.
It was only a matter of time and when it Eminem did react, a lot of heads did turn.
“Stan, Stan, son, listen
Man, dad isn’t mad
But how you gonna name yourself
After a damn gun and have a man bun?”
⁃ Killshot, Eminem.
I have attached the link below of both the songs. Do have a hear and opinionate as to who was right or wrong. Also, do go through the blog by Jem Asvad about Eminem’s album, ‘Kamikaze’. Following the sequential order will make you understand the brevity of the situation and what both artists have to say about each other.
